伏見稲荷大社

The most mesmerizing shrine I've seen to date.

Winding mountain tracks bringing me through endless trails of torii gates, each carved with a different name and date.

A very cool and peaceful place. I felt like a nun in seclusion haha.

Somewhere I'd definitely recommend to anyone who asks me about Kyoto.

Fushimi Inari Taisha

Look at the red trails - they are all torii gates

Torn between two paths, as I always am

This man was painting a new torii gate, which was when I realized where all these torii gates came from - they are (almost) all donations!

Lunch break. Eye break from all the red torii gates.

I'm sure Wendy and Francia would have loved this tatami place eh? ;)

I like this - somehow reminds me of 「今、会いにゆきます」

Fantastic bird-eye view

People taking a break and getting themselves absorbed in the scenery

This stone statue -

Looks remarkably like the 阿修羅 in 「六三四の剣」 - no?

Ok, last narcissistic shot. Here you go:

Highly recommended spot! It's a must-go if you come to Kansai.

Remember - Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto.

Yup Yup.. this place is amazing.
The photos u took are Cool.
I like the angle of the shot of the entrance too.

And the rows and rows of toriis, they make the photo look almost hypnotic. Did u ask the prists about how many toriis there are?

I tried to estimate.. by thr number of steps i took and on the average, how many toriis per step.... i ended up with approximately 500,000 toriis...

Overestimated?

narf: haha don't worry, if we do get a chance to come Kansai together again, we'll definitely go there!

lionzmane: Haha I forgot to find out the actual number - wanted to though. But I don't think 500,000's an overestimation boy. Plus it's increasing every year - I'm sure there'll be more the next time you go again!
